John is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He has received numerous honors for the results he has obtained for clients in various venues. Among his achievements, his closing argument in a multi-million-dollar verdict in New York City was entered into the Association of Trial Lawyers of America’s Professional Techniques Library for Multi-Million Dollar Arguments. He has served and continues to serve as a Lead Liaison Counsel for litigation against Roman Catholic Dioceses and various Religious Orders throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania and he was instrumental in the Diocese of Camden tendering a $90 million settlement to partially resolve an aspect of claims filed by sexual abuse survivors. During his 40 years of trial advocacy, he has been cited for obtaining the largest single personal injury award in the Tri-State region, only to top that effort a few years later by setting a new personal injury award threshold.

John championed the largest civil rights case of its time against the City of Philadelphia when he obtained a multi-million result for a young innocent African American man who was wrongly shot by a Philadelphia Police Officer. His multi-million verdict for an obstetrical malpractice still reigns as the largest medical malpractice verdict ever in Gloucester County, New Jersey. A multi-million verdict he acquired in New York City was a benchmark result holding that physicians are obligated to fully inform patients about the option of lumpectomy for the treatment of breast cancer. He achieved a $16 million air-tank award, a $12 million vehicle accident result, and an $8 million settlement for a defective tree stand. John advocated numerous multi-million-dollar settlements on behalf of children who had been sexually abused, including a successful $7 million Pennsylvania award on behalf of a young six-year-old girl, and a cluster of cases against a New Jersey school teacher in which the victims recovered $3 million each. He litigated a complex acetylene tank explosion case, which resulted in a $5 million settlement. A $12 million award in a complicated highway construction lawsuit and a national benchmark in a product liability claim involving the failure of sports equipment have been among John’s many recent accomplishments. John has advocated successfully for hundreds of NFL football players in the NFL Concussion Litigation and fought tenaciously for thousands of victims of clergy sexual abuse. John range as an attorney has encompassed a large variety of catastrophic personal injury cases, ranging from sexual abuse, medical malpractice, product liability to severe brain injuries, amputations, quadriplegia, and much more. Virtually each year since the 1990s, John’s verdicts or settlements have been among the largest personal injury awards both in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and he has been awarded the designation of both Philadelphia Super Lawyer and New Jersey Super Lawyer every year since the inception of these awards by Philadelphia Magazine, Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Magazine, New Jersey Monthly and New Jersey Super Lawyers Magazine.

John received his B.A. from the University of Maryland where he was a Rhodes Scholar nominee and scholarship football player. He obtained his J.D. from Widener Law School and is a member of numerous legal associations, including the American Association for Justice, Pennsylvania Association for Justice, and National Crime Victims Bar Association, as well as past Board Director for the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association. He is a frequent contributor to law journals, lecturer in advanced trial advocacy, and guest speaker on television programs.

An avid cyclist, John also enjoys movies, books, and spending time with his family.
